Where I come from

I have been a life long resident of West Virginia, graduating from Morgantown High School in 1993.  I knew right away that I had a driving passion of wanting to help others and get involved with public service and it was this passion that led me to Berkeley County WV as a West Virginia State Trooper in 2000.  It was here in Berkeley County where I met my best friend, my wife Angela.  Angela and I have a blended family of 5 children with a son and four daughters.  After 11 yrs. of Law Enforcement, I continued to want to serve our community, our military and our Law Enforcement by becoming an Instructor at the BSR Summit Point Training Center, teaching thousands of officers, soldiers and civilians in emergency preparedness courses.  I felt my skill sets and experience could have a direct impact on our Berkeley County community so I became a volunteer member of the  Berkeley County Local Emergency Planning Committee, subsequently becoming Chairman of the Stop the Bleed JACOBS kit initiative.  Additionally, I am the coach of the  Musselman Freshmen Girls Basketball team, helping our young minds achieve their goals and creating pathways to success.  I have made Berkeley County my home for many years and would like you to feel confident that it is a safe home for you as well.

Law Enforcement is not just a job to me, it is a way of life guided by the hand of God.

If entrusted with the job, I pledge to perform my duties with the utmost loyalty, integrity and respect.  I have a proven track record of leadership and promise to carry out my commitment to public safety, community service, and mutual cooperation with other agencies. Berkeley County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state and we need a Sheriff that can engage with our community members, provide transparency, communicate affectively with our affiliate agencies and provide efficient and affective policing.  We need leadership that will aggressively address the drug problem within our county.  Our community has been struggling to be heard for far too long.  I want you to know that I hear your VOICE, I will take real ACTION and I will produce real CHANGE.
